Did you know??

What is the difference between a novel and a book?

A novel is a fictional manuscript whose pages when printed and bound inside a cover becomes a book.

A book consists of printed sheets that can be made of almost any material (paper, parchment, fiberboard etc.) that is fastened/bound together on one side and usually protected by some type of covering. A dictionary is a book, an autobiography is a book, a cookery book is a book, but none of them are a novel.

The two words are not interchangeable.

Solve the riddle:You are standing outside of a room. The door to the room is closed. Inside the room is a light bulb. Outside of the room there are 3 light switches. One turns on the bulb, the other two are useless. You can turn the switches on and off as many times as you like, but you can only enter the room once to check. You cannot see underneath the door or through a keyhole. The only way to see inside the room is by opening the door.

How can you figure out which switch turns on the light bulb?

How's your energy?

rays of sunshineYou may look at this question at face value. You may think about your strength to complete a physical task but I am asking it in a different way. A friend recommended a book called "The Celestine Prophecy". I've really enjoyed reading it, and while fictional, it has caused me to think about life and interactions in a totally new way. I know I am a little late to the party, seeing that it was written in 1993 and spent 165 weeks on the New York Times bestsellers list but nonetheless it's struck a chord with me.

This synopsis from Wikipedia offers a decent summary. "The book discusses various psychological and spiritual ideas that are rooted in many ancient Eastern Traditions, such as the claim that vegetarianism can help an individual to establish a connection with the Divine. The main character of the novel undertakes a journey to find and understand a series of nine spiritual insights on an ancient manuscript in Peru. The book is a first-person narrative of spiritual awakening. The narrator is in a transitional period of his life, and begins to notice instances of synchronicity, which is the realization that coincidences may have deep meaning.

As we all know, there are a lot of eerie coincidences in life and this sort of puts an interesting context to measure them in.

Happy readings.
