A bit of wit...

I hate the price of candy at the movie theater. They're always raisinette.

Did you know?

Cyber Monday is an neologism. When a word or phrase is no longer "new", it is no longer a neologism, but I'm not sure it has become mainstream yet.

Popular examples of neologism are:

soccer mom (1992)

warp speed (1966)

laser (1960) from Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation

robotics (1941)

genocide (1943)

Food for thought..

Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination.

~Oscar Wilde

Interesting?

The tradition of Black Friday has marked the beginning of the Christmas shopping season as early as the 19th century, when stores often sponsored Thanksgiving Day parades. When the parade was over, Santa would show up, and the holiday shopping season would officially begin.

The 1930s marked the era when shoppers first received a longer Christmas shopping season. That is when president Roosevelt actually moved Thanksgiving up a week during the Great Depression so that retailers would get more revenue.

Shopping, Shopping, Shopping

Sorry for the extra day of vacation I just shopping bagstook from Coffeeshop Chatter.com but I was a little engrossed in getting most of my holiday shopping done between Black Friday and yesterdays Cyber Monday specials. Who could pass up such great deals. The name Cyber Monday grew out of the observation that millions of otherwise productive working Americans, fresh off a Thanksgiving weekend of window shopping, were returning to high-speed Internet connections at work Monday and buying what they liked. The term made its debut on November 28, 2005 in a Shop.org press release entitled "'Cyber Monday' Quickly Becoming One of the Biggest Online Shopping Days of the Year".

Cyber Monday is also used as a marketing term in Canada, the United Kingdom, Portugal and Germany. In these countries, with the exception of Canada, Cyber Monday sales last for eight days, typically from the last Monday in November to the first Monday in December. In Canada, the sales period mirrors that of the U.S.
